Been on Twitter for 2 years now as @webnelly, and have met so many great Maui tweeps as a result. Pretty good considering I'm in Chicago. If you're to Twitter and want some help getting to know the Maui Twitter Ohana, I'd be happy to help.
I'm also tweeting as @MauiByPhoto to promote my new website and also share some of the great pics and photos Maui tweeps are posting.

Liza, a Maui Blogger, got me into Twitter. I saw how she had quickly amassed thousands of followers and has the ability to communicate her latest exploits to a large audience immediately.
Since then, I've only built up a little over a hundred followers (with little effort) and am able to show my work to new people in real time. In fact, in the month I've been on there, I've already picked up some work from a fellow "Tweep" half way across the globe. Not bad.
Twitter is the future. It may not always be executed on the Twitter site, but it will become a regular part of most of our lives whether we like it or not. People want news and personal info Immediately. It works. You'll see when Google Wave is up and running, Twitter functions will reign supreme.

This is really a great idea. I just started using Twitter last week and have found it to be a great tool to interact with my clients, and even keep an eye on my competitors. A link on your website to your Twitter profile makes it easier for visitors to connect.

I've added a Twitter App to my page here on Hawaii Photography. I've selected the term "Kauai" and now the latest 5-10 Tweets about Kauai are regularly streaming to our page. Kind of fun.

The latest MauiTweetUp went off without a hitch! It was a great time.
Having a chance to meet local Tweeters was a lot of fun. Next time it goes down, you may want to come and check it out. Most everyone is there to make friends and share what they love.
