This site is very well done. I absolutely love the design elements. Shared it with a few of my Maui friends and artists, too.

Been on Twitter for 2 years now as @webnelly, and have met so many great Maui tweeps as a result. Pretty good considering I'm in Chicago. If you're to Twitter and want some help getting to know the Maui Twitter Ohana, I'd be happy to help. I'm also…

About Kris

Aloha Everyone,

My name is Kris, and I'm very glad to be here. I'm humbled by some of the truly amazing photos that I've see here, and hope mine measure up even just a little bit.

I'm a professional software developer by trade, but in my spare time, I'm a web developer, blogger, photographer and huge Maui fan. My first taste of photography was on my honeymoon on Oahu in '04, with a now very obsolete Sony Cybershoot. Boy, 2MP doesn't go very far these days (unless you're an iPhone).

I enjoyed Hawaii on that first trip, but absolutely fell head over heels for Maui two years later, and we've been going back to the Valley Isle every year since. Nowadays, I'm a Canon fanboy, and my first DSLR was the Canon EOS 20D. I picked up a Rebel XSi as an early Xmas gift this year and have been starting to lean on that one more now.

I have thousands of photos from Maui from the past few years that I'm trying to sift through to find the very best to share here. I know I still have a lot to learn, and am always looking for feedback from others.

I do have a few websites that I'd like to share if anyone is interested. First is my photography site, photonelly.com. It's still relatively new and not as extensive as some of the links I've seen from others here.

The second site is my attempt at "Sharing the Magic of Maui" with the world, Ka'anapali Dreamin'. While I don't live on Maui (yet), I frequent quite of few Hawaii blogs and am a regular participant in the growing Hawaii social media group using Twitter.

The last one is the most recent site, Maui by Photo. Here my readers are guided back to their favorite moments and Maui Memories through my photos from across the island. For each location featured, you can talk story and share your own memories with others. Be sure to check it out, leave a few comments, and help spread the word.

Mahalo nui loa for letting me share my photos with all of you and for taking the time to read a little bit about me.

Aloha Bryan.

I'll be completely honest, the Milky Way shot was pure luck. In fact, I didn't even realize what it was until the next day when I saw it on my computer screen. On the tiny little LCD screen of my Canon 20D, it looked like it was just cloudy.

I follow a guy on Flickr that is pure genius when it comes to this stuff. He has similar shots from atop Haleakala.
