Is Film Dead?

I'm debating over switching to digital. I know, I'm one of the last people to do it, but I have a real connection with working with my photos manually. Everyone tells me I need to leave the stinky chemicals and move onto the computer, but what is the advantage? Should I make this leap?

I know you can share images better, but does digital compromise quality? Sometimes I've noticed the colors aren't as vibrant and sometimes are pixelated.

Christmas is coming, so we'll see what happens.
